  OUR TEAMS    

The Varsity Team -

consists of highly skilled ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders who make the squad through a tryout process. A maximum of 28 cheerleaders are on this team. Tumbling (a minimum of a back tuck) is a requirement at the Varsity level, but team assignments are at the discretion of the coaches. They cheer at all varsity football games (home and away), some varsity volleyball games, all home varsity boys and girls basketball games plus select away games, as well as select baseball, soccer, lacrosse and hockey games and all playoff games. They attend team tumbling practices outside of regular practices, compete in league, regional, state and national competitions, perform at school pep assemblies, and participate in several school and community events throughout the year. The primary focus of this team is to promote school spirit during school and at all games but they also strive to advance their individual cheer technique/skills, master a competition routine and represent Dakota Ridge High School while competing at multiple levels. The Varsity team is expected to act as esteemed leaders of Dakota Ridge and the DR Cheer program and members of this team are held to exceptionally high standards.

The JV Team -

consists of ninth, tenth, and eleventh graders who are selected through a tryout process. Tumbling (a minimum of a back handspring) is a requirement at the JV level, but team assignments are at the discretion of the coaches. They cheer at some varsity volleyball games, all home jv football games and all home jv boys and girls basketball games. The JV team also may have the opportunity to cheer at some Varsity football games including but not limited to the mini cheer game, homecoming game, think pink game and Halloween game. They attend all home Varsity football games in uniform and stand as a team cheering along with Varsity. They attend team tumbling practices outside of regular practices, compete in league, regional, and state competitions, perform at school pep assemblies, and participate in several school and community events throughout the year. The primary focus of this team is to develop individual cheer technique/skills, to promote school spirit during school and at all games while also advancing their individual cheer technique/skills and master a competition routine and represent Dakota Ridge High School while competing at multiple levels..
